Aaradhya Das: From Young National Medalist to National Champion
Aaradhya Das has added one of the biggest achievements of her young chess career to an already impressive list of results. Representing Tripura, she became the National Under-13 Girls Champion in 2026, finishing the 11-round championship unbeaten with 9.5/11.
Her national title is not an isolated achievement. Over the past few years, Aaradhya has steadily built her record through national and international competitions, collecting medals and gaining experience against strong opposition.
A Strong Start at the National Level
Aaradhya's progress can be traced through her performances in the National Schools Chess Championships.
In 2023, she won the bronze medal in the Under-9 Girls category, scoring 7/9. The following year, she continued that consistency at the 2024 National Schools Chess Championship, where she again finished with a bronze medal, this time in the Under-11 Girls category with another 7/9 score.
These results established Aaradhya as a strong young player at the national level while she continued competing in progressively higher age categories.
Success on the International Stage
Aaradhya's results in 2024 also brought success beyond Indian tournaments.
At the 26th Asian Youth Chess Championship, she won the bronze medal in the Under-10 Girls Classical section, scoring 6.5/9. She was also part of the Indian team that won silver in the team Classical competition.
Later that year, she achieved another major result at the Commonwealth Chess Championship, winning the Under-10 Girls title with 8.5/9 and remaining unbeaten throughout the event.
Building Toward the National Title
Aaradhya continued to compete actively in 2025, producing several strong results in rating and open tournaments. Among them was a victory at the 1st AICF Smart Girls Rating Tournament, where she scored an impressive 8.5/9 without losing a game.
She also performed strongly in the Tripura State Senior Open, finishing fourth with 7/9 despite competing in an open senior field.
These results formed part of the competitive experience that Aaradhya carried into the following year.
National Champion in 2026
The biggest breakthrough came at the 39th National Under-13 Girls Chess Championship 2026 in Puducherry.
Aaradhya entered the event as the third seed, rated 1944. Across 11 rounds, she scored 9.5 points, winning eight games and drawing three without suffering a single defeat. Her performance rating for the tournament was 2063, while she gained approximately 61 Elo points.
The final two rounds provided a particularly strong finish.
In Round 10, Aaradhya defeated the tournament's top seed, WCM Aadya Gowda, moving into a tie for first place with 8.5/10.
Then, in the final round, she faced Janaki S D, who was also on 8.5 points. Aaradhya won the decisive game, finishing the championship on 9.5/11 and securing the National Under-13 Girls Championship title outright.
A Journey Still in Progress
From a National Schools bronze medal in 2023 to international medals in 2024 and finally the National Under-13 title in 2026, Aaradhya Das's results show a clear progression through different levels of competition.
Aaradhya is also a member of the ChessNeurons community, continuing her chess journey alongside a growing record of competitive achievements.
Her National Championship victory marks another important milestone — and with her tournament career still developing, there is plenty of room for the story to grow as more achievements and information become available.
